Mothers That Care oversee, and are a part of various projects that support and uplift members of our local communities, including Joe Slovo, Marconi Beam, Dunoon, Atlantis, Ysterplaat, Brooklyn, Milnerton, Table View, Observatory, Woodstock, Maitland and Blouberg.
Mothers That Care manage various projects to support disadvantaged people within our local communities. We are very proud of the progress we have made so far and hope to achieve more in the coming months and years.
The organisations Mothers That Care support include:
We at Mothers That Care are so very proud to share with you on Mandela Day our most recent project. In collaboration with Blouberg Rotary and the Passion Grant Program we have refurbished the children’s ward of the Brooklyn Chest Hospital. Huge THANK YOU to all involved in this labour of love. Please watch the video above!
Mandela Day, which takes place on 18th July each year, was a high for us! We managed to collect 460 toiletry bags that were distributed among the communities we support, which is from Atlantis through to Mowbray. BIG thank you to everyone who donated for this special day! Thanks also to Emirates who provided us with toiletry bags and to Linda, Joe and the team who filled them. Lots of happy, smiling faces and some dignity restored!
Mothers That Care volunteers come together each week on a Wednesday to collect sandwiches and other goods that are dropped off by generous residents from the nearby areas. From there they are distributed to crèches, schools, safe havens and charitable organisations in areas such as Blouberg, Melkbos, Table View, Milnerton, Parklands and the Joe Slovo informal settlement
Our volunteers work tirelessly knitting and crocheting blankets/beanies to help keep the Cape cold away. Knitted squares are made into blankets and soft toys are added to the bundle for every child to call their own.
Every week Mothers That Care are very proud of our delivery team. They collect left over bread, pastries and cakes from Parklands Super Spar for delivery to our various organisations.
You can support Mothers That Care by donating cash, food or warm clothing, or your time.
